The Cheyenne Mountain Aquatics Swim Team (CMA) is a is a technique-based swim team, in Colorado Springs, Colorado. We welcome swimmers from ages 6 to 18. The team currently offers 7 practice groups on a year round basis as well as a Summer program.

CMA is a USA Swimming, Club Recognition Program Level 3 club member. The Club Recognition Program offers club members a working blueprint for developing strong, stable, financially sound and athletically productive organizations.

Designed over a two year period by USA Swimming’s Club Development Committee, this voluntary program presents four levels of achievement across four component areas deemed critical to long-term club success. The program encourages clubs to establish organizational goals and to benchmark their progress toward those goals. The ultimate objective of the program is to strengthen the club system in USA Swimming by guiding clubs through a development process that ultimately positions the program and its coaches to better serve athletes.

The Club Development Committee looked at many different factors that helped create “great” clubs. The committee grouped all of the factors into four major component areas:

• Business & Organizational Success

• Parent & Volunteer Development

• Coach Development & Education

• Athlete Development & Performance

These component areas, along with the markers in each area, were further subdivided into four different levels of achievement from Level 1 to Level 4.

Mission Statement:
CMA exists to inspire lifelong swimmers of character who realize their highest potential through technique-based instruction, training, and competition

Vision Statement:
CMA’s vision is to influence constructive change within USA Swimming by becoming a top 200 team, attaining Level 4 Club Recognition, and being a model of excellence through our focus on proper technique.

Value Statement:
We value parents with integrity who are involved, supportive, and team-oriented. We value their display of good sportsmanship. We value their volunteerism and the honoring of their financial commitments to the team.

We value coaches with integrity, a positive approach dedicated to technique-based swimming, and accomplishing our mission and vision. We value low injury rates, hosting quality meets, and having fun. Lastly, we value having fun while we excel.

We value our athletes at all levels for their integrity, good sportsmanship, and peer encouragement. We value their teamwork and enthusiasm. We value personal growth and well rounded development such as that required for IMX and IM Ready. Lastly, we value our athletes having fun while they strive for personal excellence.

We value our board leadership for their integrity and their adherence to sound business practices. We value a strong board with a solid sense of community spirit. We value goal-setting and open communication. We value a positive, excellent coaching staff as part of our leadership team. Lastly, we value financial stability.
