Practice Groups

Developmental Group
CMA’s Developmental Groups serve as an introduction to the swimming world. Emphasis is placed, through drills, on proper stroke technique and development. Swimmers are encouraged to develop in all areas to be well-rounded kids and students. Developmental swimmers are encouraged to swim while pursuing other activities and sports.

Developmental 1 Group: This group is for the beginner swimmer, or swimmers new to CMA, that are age 8 and under. Emphasis is on developing proper stroke and turn technique.

Developmental 2 Group: This group is for the beginner swimmer, or swimmers new to CMA, that are age 9 and over. Again emphasis is on developing proper stroke and turn technique. Yardage may increase through the season to prepare swimmers for meets and to progress to the next group.

Developmental 3 Group: This group is primarily for the experienced swimmer that has been with CMA for at least a year. Emphasis in this group is on stroke development in combination with work on increasing speed and endurance.

Green Group
The CMA Green Group is designed for both junior and senior age groups. Green group swimmers are often involved in other sports and activities, or seeking regular exercise. Swimmers with a wide variety of swimming backgrounds will be comfortable in the Green Group. The groups’ goal is to build relationships and have fun while continually improving swimming technique, endurance, and performance in meets.

White Group
The Vision of the White Group is to provide age group swimmers with the technical, physical, and emotional foundation necessary for a successful swimming career. Our objectives are:
-To provide a foundation for Olympic dreams,
-To promote physical fitness, nutrition, and good health habits,
-To provide opportunities to learn the values of hard work, dedication, and self-discipline.

Senior Group

The Senior group is designed for swimmers who have goals of reaching their highest potential as students and as swimmers.  Specifically, the Senior group is for swimmers:
- striving to attend national level USA Swimming meets
- who want to swim in college
- who remain excellent students
- who are willing to put the work in to accomplish these goals
The Senior group provides an atmosphere where excellence is the expectation and hard work is the norm.
